Care Before Surgery

With Ageing, your eyelids tend to stretch due to weakening of the muscles supporting them. This results, in accumulation of excess fat above and below your eyelids, causing sagging eyebrows, droopy upper lids and bags under your eyes. This prevents your eyes from opening completely, or it pulls down your lower eyelids.

After surgery you may temporarily experience:
- Blurred / double vision
- Watery eyes
- Sensitivity to light

For some people, the results of the surgery may last a lifetime, and others may experience recurrence of droopy eyelids. The swelling and bruising normally heals in about 14 days, however the surgery scars may take a few months to fade.
The patient may return to work in five to ten days and can begin to read after two or three days of the surgery. If you were wearing contact lens before the surgery you can resume wearing after two weeks upon the advice of your physician. The patient should refrain from alcohol intake after the surgery up to three weeks. Bruising and swelling subsides after several weeks.
