BARBED THREAD FACELIFT
Barbed Thread Facelift has now emerged as a cost effective and minimally invasive alternative to the traditional Facelift procedure. As we age, the tissues which keep the skin of the face and other body parts lose their elasticity and the skin starts to sag. This becomes visible only after the age of 55-60. However, in some people as a result of excessive stress or other factors, their skin starts to sag much earlier, especially in the face.
This is where Facelift comes to rescue. A traditional Facelift usually takes up to 5 hours to complete. Barbed Thread Facelift has now emerged as a more convenient way to get the same results from a traditional Facelift procedure but at much lower cost and improved efficacy. A Barbed Thread Facelift takes no more than a couple of hours to complete and does not require any anesthetic.
The procedure involves insertion of threads in the face at the area which needs a Facelift by making small nicks on the skin surface. The threads then attach themselves to the skin tissue. The cosmetic surgeon then pulls the thread back and lifts up the skin tissues to improve the contour and shape of the face and get rid of the sagging. The results of Barbed Thread Facelift can be observed almost immediately with the patient observing a new rejuvenated face.
Since there is no role for an anesthesia in Barbed Thread Facelift, the patient is fully awake during the procedure. This allows them to tell the physician as to when to stop the pulling of the tissues when they feel that they have the desired look. These threads are then tied in knots and get absorbed in the skin eliminating the chances of any scarring due to the procedure.
Who Can Get a Barbed Thread Facelift?
Barbed Thread Facelift is best suitable for people within the age group of 30 and 60 years. It is important for them to have a good natural skin tone for the procedure to give the desired results. In this age range, there is slight sagging of the skin and most do begin experience sagging around the face and neck but it is not to the extent of requiring a more extensive facelift procedure.
Barbed Thread Facelift is best suited for people with minor sagging skin to prevent the burden of the cost of the traditional Facelift surgery and the complications that can arise due to it.
Cost of a Barbed Thread Facelift
A Barbed Thread Facelift generally costs much less than a traditional Facelift surgery. This is because there is no need of any anesthesia and the time the patient has to spend in the hospital is pretty less. The cost of Barbed Thread Facelift depends on the number of threads that are used for the procedure.
In India a single thread used for Barbed Thread Facelift costs around Rs. 1500 and the number of threads to be used depends on the area where the procedure needs to be done and the age of the patient. A typical eyebrow lift will need not more than six threads which amount to approximately Rs. 9000.
Similarly, for jawline and chin around 15 threads are required. The number of threads required for people above the age of 55 will be significantly more to the tune of 40 at minimum. Thus, it is best to consult with our skilled cosmetic surgeon and get details about the overall cost and efficacy of a Barbed Thread Facelift.
