Though scars will never go away completely, there are methods to help reduce its size and change its appearance, to make it less visible.
What is scarring?
It an integral process of wound healing. Scars occur when the dermis (deeper layer of the skin) is damaged. The appearance of a scar depends on the nature of the wound that damaged the skin, its anatomical location, and other genetic factors (different for every individual).

Keloid Scars: These are that develop as part of an overly aggressive healing process. They appear quite heaped up, abruptly above the rest of the skin, that looks pink or purple color and smooth.
Contracture scars: These develop from burns, which are deeper scars. They tighten skin, and impair your ability to move; and affect muscles and nerves.
